About

As I grew up, I dreamed about being a writer. I finally realized my dream in 1986 when I took a job as an editorial assistant with Christian Service Brigade. My first boss encouraged me to pursue freelance writing. He sent me to my first writer’s conference. My first article was published in 1989. I’ve been freelancing ever since.

I worked with Brigade for 18 years, rising to the position of editor for all of their publications. Then, I joined the staff of Lighthouse Christian Products as writer/editor. I write all web copy and Scripture cards. I administer the Facebook page for the consumer site, Encouragement Store. I edit the catalogs, sell sheets and booklets.

I continue to freelance and serve as a mentor for the Christian Writer’s Guild. My goal is to help other writers realize their full potential. I’ve received encouragement from writers I know and from others who have mentored me. I want to pass that encouragement on. And, I hope to build a community of writers who encourage each other.

Sometimes, the most difficult part about writing is getting started—finding an idea. Hopefully, you’ll find that inspiration here.

  1. I love your blog categories. I think it is wonderful that you have a mission to encourage writers.

  2. Your article is bookmark-worthy. I really want to read this again. Its compelling reading with a lot of well-made points that I can relate to and grasp. Thanks for the effort you put into this.

  3. Definitely consider that that you stated. Your favorite justification seemed to be at the net the easiest factor to take into accout of. I say to you, I certainly get irked at the same time as people think about concerns that they just do not recognise about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the top and outlined out the entire thing with no need side effect , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thank you

  4. Wonderful post, I have saved as a favorite this web-site so hopefully I will discover more on this subject matter in the future!

  5. Debbie, I’m so thankful you sent me the link to your blog. I’m not giving up entirely, things are just really hairy right now at home. Everything happens for a reason, and God has planted a seed. 🙂
