Friday Fun – Jakob Grimm’s Birthday

On this day in 1785, Jakob Grimm was born. He became a librarian, philologist and children’s author. He joined his brother, Wilhelm, in collecting and editing “Grimm’s Fairy Tales” which featured such classics as “Cinderella,” “Hansel and Gretel,” “Snow White” and “Rapunzel.” When first written, the stories were dark. But over time and more editing, they became the beloved children’s classics we know today.

Please post your comments: What is your favorite children’s story? What can you write for children?
